Donald L Reagan

Donald L. “Doc” Reagan, age 88, of Palmyra Township, passed away on September 16, 2026, at his home. He was born September 11, 1938, in New Baltimore, Ohio, to Herfie Garfield and Orma Orpha (Cutlip) Reagan.

Doc attended Southeast High School until 1955. On September 9, 1961, he married the love of his life, Ellen Dean. Together, Doc and Ellen shared more than 61 years of marriage, building a life centered around family and creating many cherished memories with their children, grandchildren, and loved ones. He later proudly served two years in the United States Army and another four in the Army Reserves.

Doc began driving trucks as soon as he received his driver’s license, beginning a career that would span much of his life. He worked for his brother’s company, Southeast Trucking, as well as several other companies, including Charter Express, D&M Express, Wills Trucking, and SDS Earthmoving, where he eventually retired.

Doc was a man of his word who valued his family above all else. Some of his greatest joy came from simply being with those he loved. He treasured the time spent with his children and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and being a part of their lives. His family was a constant source of pride and happiness, and the time they shared together meant a great deal to him.

Doc was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen Reagan, who passed away on March 13, 2023; his parents; and his brother, Carl Reagan.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Reagan; his daughter, Jill (Reagan) Maines; his grandchildren, Zachary (Amanda) Reagan, Alexander Reagan, Logan Maines, and Tatum Maines; and his great-granddaughter, Mikayla Reagan. He is also survived by his siblings, George Reagan, Herman Reagan, Virgil (Carolyn) Reagan, and Inis (James) White, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Palmyra Township, where military honors will be rendered.
