Dorothy Irene Morrison, of Freedom Township, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Dorothy was born on February 10, 1925 in Home, Pennsylvania to parents John and Goldie (Donahue) Houser.

Mom was a God fearing woman, served as a good shepherd to all and faithfully kept her Sabbath. She loved being a farm wife, mother and grandmother. Mom was known for her good cooking, her love of gardening and would can or freeze what she grew from the garden. She was also known for her beautiful hats that she wore. Mom never knew a stranger and was a mother to those who had none. We are all grateful for the amount of care and concern shown for our mother the last thirteen months. She was a dear mother and grandmother and will be missed, but always present in our hearts.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Carolyn (Charles) Helmling, Howard (Janet) Morrison, Bruce (Kathy) Morrison and Bonny (Tom) Smith. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Bob Boxer and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cyrus H. Morrison, and her son Harold J. Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Carol Klepper and her siblings: Robert Houser, Betty Wood and Anna Mae Boyer.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. She was a wonderful lady, and a great mother. I remember her cooking breakfast for us after we came in from chores in the morning, always kind, and cheery. She was a christian in every sense of the word. She was the voice of reason on many a morning as well. I pray that the lord takes her home, and blesses her family. I wish to say how much respect I had for her. I also wish to say that she will be missed. God Bless all the Morrisons may they find peace, and blessings unto them.
Sincerely,
Theodore Roosevelt Watters III

She was always kind, and busy. Always had on the price is right. Her dog BJ was lots of fun to hang around.

I am saddened to learn of Dorothy's passing, yet there is joy in celebrating the long life of a wonderful woman. I was privileged to serve as her pastor in the late 90's and she was a source of great encouragement to me and all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Dorothy was truly a blessed soul. She always treated me like her own daughter. I feel grateful to have been part of the family. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family especially my children Steven and Mandy I know they will miss their grandma. Till we meet again Dorothy rejoice with Cy and Harold.

To Carolyn, Howard, Bruce & Bonnie , & extended family members, so much can be said about aunt Dorothy, first the word waste was not in her vocabulary, if she couldn't eat it,wear it, or use it, she found someone that could and made sure they got it, right down to the animals that showed up at her door. She always found time to send cards and letters to friends and family . She always made sure that she knew where her children and grandchildren were and prayed for them daily, her earthly prayers will be missed but now you all will receive heavenly prayers. What a glad reunion is going on. God bless you, love Marilyn & Bernard
