Doug was born on February 20, 1951 in Ravenna, Ohio to parents Archie and Novello Moore. Doug had been a registered nurse at Akron City Hospital until recently retiring after 30 years of service. He is a member of the First Congregational Church in Ravenna and had been active for in the Akron Kennel Club breeding Whippets. Doug enjoyed knitting, sewing, fishing and cooking. More recently he raised and showed Canaries.
Doug is survived by his brother Larry (Donna) Moore and his cousins; Annette (Frank) Dowling, Peggy (Jay) Simmons, Lynn Troutman, Vita (Ted) Freeman and nephews: Dan, Erick, and Jeremy Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 2:00PM until the 4:00PM memorial service officiated by Pastor Jerry Kruse. Inurnment at Maple Grove Cemetery will take place at a later date.
