Edith M. "Marge" Woodrum

She was born April 19, 1931, in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late James and Edith Madeline (Moon) Patton. Marge spent many years working in the restaurant business as a waitress, manager, and eventually owner of Marge and Jerry’s Restaurant in Newbury, Ohio. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church of Stow, VFW Auxiliary #2055, and the DAR. Marge was very active in AA throughout Northeast Ohio. She loved her Tuesday bingo group and was the president of the Meadowlarks at Rushin Meadows.

Surviving family members include her children: Mary (Larry) Velasquez of Moab, UT, Louis Vas Jr. of Leesburg, FL, Clarese Ann Baker of Leesburg, FL, Jean (Edwin) Fisher of Shalersville, OH, Roy Williamson of Mooresville, NC, and Jon (Connie) Williamson of Kinston, NC; and her sisters Betty Lou McIntire and Marilyn Robinson both of Clearwater, FL. Marge also leaves her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald Woodrum, her sister Florence Byers and her brother James Patton.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Friends may also call an hour prior to the 7:00 PM funeral service on Friday, December 2, 2011, at the New Apostolic Church of Stow, 3541 Elm Rd., Stow. Interment will take place at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
