Eileen was born in Edinburg, Ohio on July 8, 1923 to parents Boyd and Nina (Davis) Hickman. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in education from Kent State University in 1955 and enjoyed a long teaching career. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Deerfield for one year, then went on to the Windham School system where she retired after a long tenure of 30 plus years. She just loved kids and continued to substitute after retirement. Eileen enjoyed gardening and baking. She was always handing out fresh baked cookies, especially at the holidays. She had a thirst for knowledge and loved to read and also enjoyed playing scrabble. Eileen was very supportive to her children, always there for them with loving guidance. Her family was of utmost importance and enjoyed time spent with her siblings, whom she had always remained close.
Surviving Eileen are her daughters Sherry (Dr. David Cliness) Mann and Cheryl (Christopher) Minter. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and many loving nieces and nephews.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Blanton Abel, second husband Harry Errickson, her sister Vivian Ferguson and her brother Paul Hickman.
Graveside Services, officiated by Pastor Roger Brown, will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Windham Cemetery in Windham, Ohio.
