She was born November 15, 1924, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Rocco and Frances (LaFatch) Polichena. Elizabeth was the cofounder and co-owner of DeAngelis Heating and Air Conditioning with her husband, Philip.
Elizabeth was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish. She was a giving person who was generous with her time. Elizabeth volunteered at the Robinson Memorial Hospital Hospitality Shop and with Catholic Charities.
On April 14, 1945, she married Philip Joseph DeAngelis. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2008. Also preceding Elizabeth are her parents, her brothers Nick, Rocco Jr., Jim, and Tony Polichena, and her grandson Stephen Philip Battaglia.
Survivors include her children: Frank (Mary) DeAngelis of Ravenna and Phyllis (Nick) Battaglia of Kent, her grandchildren: Paul Battaglia, John Battaglia, Kathy Battaglia, Lori (Mike) Wadlington, and Christopher DeAngelis, as well as her great-grandchildren: Samantha, Vincent, Mia, Giada, Ella, Eva, Logan, Luke, and Lila. She is also survived by her sisters Carmela “Dolly” D’Agostino and Fran Hutchinson, her brothers Joe (Nellie), Leonard (Dolores), Russ (Becky) and Frank (Jane) Polichena, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Friday, August 31, 2018, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak on Saturday at 12:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
