Ellen J. Harper Martin

She was born September 4, 1932, in Sutton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Roy and Hattie (Jones) Harper. Ellen was a charter member of Blackhorse Baptist Church. She loved to sing old Gospel hymns, garden, crafts, and work on crossword puzzles. Ellen was also a talented seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Each of the grandchildren received a handmade blanket.

Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carlos E. Martin, her daughters Carol Freeman and Alice Rush, her sister Bessie Losh, and her brother Leo Harper.

She is survived by her children: Roy (Karen) Martin, Betty (James) Blasiole, and Mary (Danny) Edwards, her sisters Shirley Ramsey and Edith Sumpter, as well as her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with Reverend Dr. James L. Blasiole and Reverend Robert Burgess officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
