

Eugene was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 1, 1931 to parents John and Anna Priest. Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict and retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service and then located to Ohio in 1968. He went on to work for Gougler Industries in Kent and subsequently retired from Pepsi Cola Co. In retirement he worked as a parts driver at Havre Chevrolet for many years. Gene was a member of the Victory Baptist Temple in Brimfield and loved working in the yard and vegetable gardening and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Surviving Gene is his wife of 58 years, Ramona, and his children: Renotta Bradley, Perry (Barb) Priest and Christine Priest. He also leaves his grandchildren: Melissa Bradley, Shane Bradley, Justin Bradley, Jessica Cobbs, Ashley Priest, Tawnya (Paul) Nutter, Becky (Dylan) Singelton, Brian (Amanda) Workman and 12 great-grandchildren. Surviving also is his brother Jimmy (Doris) Priest and his beloved dog “Frisky”.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Kenneth, Bill, Bernard, Bob, his grandson Alan Priest and his nephew Jeffrey Priest.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 5:00 pm until 7:00PM, where funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00AM with Pastor Chuck Whetsel and Pastor David Rosenberger officiating. Interment will follow at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
