Evelyn Lucille Groves Pastva

She was born August 21, 1924, in Glencoe, Ohio, to parents Luther and Earsley (Edgell) Groves. Evelyn has been a member of the Ravenna Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and baking, especially bread and rolls. Evelyn also enjoyed feeding all of the neighborhood children. She was best known for being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Ray (Judy) Pastva of Kimbolton, Thomas (Mary) Pastva of Paris Township, Jimmy (Suzanne) Pastva of Louisville, Pam (Jerald) Perry of Ravenna, Debbie (Donald) LaRose of Lake Milton, Lois (Harold) Adkins of Mantua, Sandy (John Mazzei) Nutter of Ravenna, and Sherry (Brian) Joyner of Lorain. Evelyn’s memory will also be cherished by her brother Eugene (Shirley) Groves of Rootstown, her grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Pastva, her parents, three grandsons, her sisters Violet, Elizabeth, and Maryanne, as well as her brothers Jim and Luther.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor W. David Rosenberger on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
