Fern and her husband Ron moved to Rootstown 64 years ago and enjoyed many years in the community while raising nine children.
Fern was born to parents Joseph and Hilda (Pax) Hartman in Akron, Ohio on April 12, 1928. .
As a long-time member of St. Peter of the Fields Church, Fern enjoyed her many years of involvement with the Altar Rosary Society and service as a Eucharistic Minister. She also dedicated 25 years as a Eucharistic Minister for Robinson Memorial Hospital. In her earlier years, she donated her time as Co-Chair of both the Home School Association and Family Life at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, as well as a member of the Evangelisation committee. She also enjoyed her association with the New Life Choir and the Young at Heart Club.
In her spare time, Fern loved flower gardening, camping with her family, travelling the world, cooking, and baking for her beloved family. Most important in her life was her family and faith.
Fern is survived by her “one and only”, husband of 73 years, Ronald G. Albright, whom she met at a church outing. She was married by her brother, Rev. Arthur Hartman at St. Martha Church in Akron on August 21, 1948. Her children Beverly Goethals, Linda Trautman, Dennis (Joanne) Albright, Eileen (Randy) Coleman, Larry (Lucille) Albright, Mary (Roy) West, Kathleen (Mark) Banas, James Albright (Karlo) and Renee` (Richard) Loftin. Her beloved 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Rev. Arthur Hartman, Cloyd Hartman, her sister Violet Paulus and sons-in-laws Michael Goethals and Craig Trautman.
Friends will be received at St. Peter of the Fields church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 10am until the 11am Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Zachary Coulter. Interment will follow at St. Peter of the Fields cemetery.
