Frank was born in Evergreen Park, IL. to parents John J. and Madge R. (Black) Dowling on December 9, 1952.
Frank had earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees and retired as a clinical specialist in mental health. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where he enjoyed volunteering in the office and providing in-home communion. He also enjoyed his role in pastoral care at UH Portage Medical Center and the Hospice of the Western Reserve. Frank took great pride in being able to mentor and guide others. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking and hiking with his wife.
Frank is survived by his wife of 39 years, Annette (Moore) Dowling and their children: Heather (Paul) Byerly, Charlotte (Rhett) Klein, Stephanie (Paul) Stumbaugh, Dan (Michele) Dowling and Jerry (Kaycie Greathouse) Dowling. He will be sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren; brothers’ Jack Dowling, Jim (Margie) Dowling, sister Mary Ann (Joe) Tribbia and sisters-in-laws Joan Dowling and Marge Dowling and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Sydney Dowling and his brothers Ed and Tom Dowling.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 4-6pm. A Quaker Memorial Service will be held at 6pm. All are welcome. Mass of Christian burial, officiated by Rev. William Kraynak, will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, on Friday, November 11th at 11am. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
