He was born November 16, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Woodrow Wilson and Ellen M. (Boyd) Sanders. Fred grew up in Edinburg and graduated from Southeast High School.
Fredrick Sanders was a man of many hats although he owned many, and only ever wore the one that read the name of his company "Sanders Excavating" which was established in 1975. He built a beautiful collection of classic cars, tractors and acquired many trophies for pulling semi trucks, his all time favorite sport for which he's been first in the nation more than once, most recently in 2022. He loved watching sports and loved the Cleveland teams. His life's work was building out and maintaining the property on State Route 14. He lived to watch friends and family enjoy it.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife Debra (Berry) Sanders, who he married October 10, 2010. He is also survived by his step-children: Randi (Adam) Miller and Stephanie (Claire) Arble, his brother James W. (Charlene) Sanders, his grandchildren: Eli and Skylar Miller, and nephews: James R., Aaron, Hugh, and Ken.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Phyllis Coffman and Arlene Robinson, his nephew Erik, and his nieces Melinda and Deborah.
Friends and family will be received Monday, February 5, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor David Ballert on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
