Gary was born in Mayfield, Ohio on January 20, 1939 to parents Nelson and Virginia (Fisher) Porter. Gary had been retired as a supervisor from Chrysler Corp. after a 40 plus year career and a proud member of the UAW.
Gary loved farming and growing vegetables for his wife to can. He liked football and being a fan of the Cleveland Browns. In his spare time, he enjoyed casino trips with his wife, Kay.
Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kay (Hartman) Porter. Left also to cherish his memory are daughters Kelly (Alan) Reichenbach, Kristi (Dave) Henson and Amanda Szabo. He also leaves his grandchildren Jacob and Matthew Henson.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and step-son Jeff Corsello.
Per his wishes, cremation is being honored and no services are planned.
