Harold Jay Walter died peacefully in hospice care after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Ohio, he spent several years in the armed forces, followed by employment at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron where he retired. He loved to travel with his wife Sandy and trying new restaurants everywhere they went.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Corrine, and his wife Sandra.
He is survived by his children Jay Walter & daughter in-law Shelly Walter of Edinburg, OH., and Bryan Walter of Lakeland, Fla. Also surviving is his sister, Janet Deihl of Warren, his grandchildren Megan (Chad) Christian of Sebring, Joseph Walter of Edinburg, Tiffany (Billy) Nicholson of Tallmadge and his great-grandchildren Miles, Clara, and Jameson.
Per his wishes, cremation has been honored and no services are scheduled at this time.
