Mr. Monroe was a bookkeeper and a homemaker. She loved rose gardening, being outdoors, walking, solving crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was an amputee who lived a full life after the loss of her leg.
Survivors include, her son: Bob (Pam) Merck of Atwater, grandchildren: Jason (Anabell) Merck of Chicago, Kristen (Rod) Silveira of Columbus and Clint Merck of New York City. Great grandchildren: Andrew and Abby Merck and Bella and Ethan Silveira.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands: Walter T. Merck and Edwin Monroe.
A private service will be held for the family.
