Helen Lucille Rogers

August 17, 1934November 11, 2020

Helen Lucille Rogers, age 86, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 11, 2020. She kept her sweet loving spirit while battling cancer and Alzheimer’s.

She was born August 17, 1934, in Duck, WV, the youngest child of Emory Asby Rogers and Flossie Mae Tanner Rogers, both of Clay County. God and family always came first in Helen’s life, and she was a member of God’s Church of Ravenna. She was a loving mother and proud grandmother.

Helen was a soft spoken woman who was most comfortable sitting on her porch with a hot cup of coffee and sharing stories with good company. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and going to yard sales. Her children Helen Diane, Carol Ann, Alva Lee, Jr., and John David will miss her sweet smile. Her memory will also be cherished by her 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by siblings Joanne, Margaret Princess, Charley, James, Arley, Orval, Mary, Council, Rosa, Willis, Virgie, Denver, Willie, and Gilbert.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Vicie Mostella following at 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. I will always treasure the time our sweet. loving , beautiful soul ( Helen)
Sat for a good hour having deep conversation with Yanalése. And at such a young age of 3 my little darlin sat so intrigued in conversation and didn't budge from that chair once until the conversation was over! There was no such thing as friendship ...you simply became family, and the love she shared with us will ALWAYS BE TREASURED❤ WHAT A PRIVILEGE AND HONOR IT IS TO BE BLESSED IN KNOWING THIS BEAUTIFUL GEM. THE INTENSE TRUE LOVE SHE HAD, SPILLED OVER INTO HER CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SO THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER FOR YOUR GIFT OF LOVE YOU'VE GIVEN SO MANY PEOPLE IN KNOWING SISTER HELEN❤ THE REFLECTION OF THE LOVE OF JESUS.... I WILL NOT SAY GOODBYE, BUT RATHER ILL SEE YOU LATER...THE LEGACY YOU LEFT BEHIND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! I KNOW YOUR UP THERE SHOUTING AND PRAISING GOD AS YOU GOT TO SEE OUR SAVIOR FACE TO FACE, IN THE EVERLASTING PRESENCE OF THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!..... THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE YOU'VE SHOWN AND GIVEN!

Mom, I knew that one day Jesus would hug you so tight that all your broken pieces would come back together. Enjoy the brightness of Heaven and the peace of God, the laughter of the angels, and your big Rogers family reunion. The angels are singing hillbilly hymns....
O come, angel band, come, and around me stand, O bear me away on your snowy wings, to my eternal home. We love you always, Diane
