

Hilbert Russell “Brack” Brackenrich, age 94 of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016.
He was born June 1, 1921 in Pax, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Gladys Brackenrich and brothers Lawrence (Etheline) Beckley, WV, Eugene (Ollie) Detroit, MI, Walter, Jr. (Gerry) Muskegon, MI and sister Kathleen Phillips (Dan) Rainelle, WV, and daughter-in-law Sharon, Rootstown.
He is survived by son Stephen (Judy) Cleveland, brothers Woodrow (Claire) Stuart, FL, James Lewis (Lucy) Wilson, AR, Masil (Fran) Muskegon, MI, Roy Lee (Barbara) Muskegon, MI, Mickey (Jay) Ravenna, and sister Anna Lee Smith (Starret) Muskegon, MI. Surviving grandchildren are Stephen, Jr. (Heather) Ravenna, OH, Laura Long (Chris), Rootstown, OH, Thomas (Amie), Hartville, OH. Great grandchildren: Montgomery, Madison, Logan, Kaden, and Raylan. Many nephews, nieces and great nephews and great nieces. He is survived by his very good friend, Jeannette Allen, to whom he was devoted for many years.
Hilbert served in the United States Marines in World War II. He was employed by Kent State University. His passion was his art, creating many beautiful landscapes, a surviving testament of his vision. Brack also had a fondness for country music and played the banjo and violin.
His wishes for cremation are being honored and a private memorial service will be held on a later date. Final resting place will be Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
