She was born March 22, 1943, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to parents Beatrice (Dempsey) and Charlie Shively Farris. Irene was a member of the New Beginning Fellowship Church in Brimfield.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband James Jordan.
She is survived by her brothers: Donnie Farris and Darrell Farris, sisters: Jewel Thompson, Fannie Jednel, and Lucille Rodgers, her daughter: Crystal Deon Phillips, her granddaughter Jerica Hixon, and her great-grandson Loreinzo Reigns Roosa.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at the New Beginning Fellowship Church, 4563 State Route 43, Brimfield, OH 44240.
