This is a story of a hero.Jim Lulu and my late husband John Staten happened upon a van that had landed in Lake Hodgeson.Jim and John unselfishly jumped into the water and pulled a man out and to safety on top of his van.
They saved this man's like and were recognized by the Highway State Patrol.
Rest in peace to both Heros!

I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We were neighbors growing up. Probably haven’t seen him in 40 years but have fond memories of playing kick ball and baseball in his backyard. Hope you can take some comfort in knowing that others care.

I knew Jimmy most of my life. He was an outstanding person that respected everyone and was compassionate about what he did whether it was family or work. Jim would help out no matter what, and he never complained about when or why. Faithful, trustworthy, and responsible he always finished things with great pride! My thoughts and prayers to the families, be proud and always remember what a great person and go-getter he was because us guys in the trades will always remember Jimmy this way.

When Jamie and I met you at that dance and later in time you two married ! I was so unsure if I was really going to like you or not because you were going to be my daughter's husband and my three grandchildren their step dad. I was concerned. In just a short time I realize what a gem my daughter had brought into her life and the life of my grendchildren You were by far the best you didn't have to be. Thank you Jim for loving and always being there for them all. You were an amazing son-in-law,etc and I will always be grateful for that night at the dance !!!
