James was born in Harriman, Tennessee on January 6, 1942 to parents Andrew and Carrie (Duncan) McKamey. Mr. McKamey was retired after a long career as the owner and operator of McKamey Trucking Co. James loved playing poker and bingo and enjoyed taking trips to the casinos. He liked hunting, mostly deer and squirrel. Back in the day he had a passion for race cars and muscle cars. James enjoyed racing these cars at local tracks and being a great mechanic, he also enjoyed working on and maintaining these in great shape. He loved his family and loved his dog “Bentley”.
Surviving James are his children: Gwena “Deann” (John) Morris, James (Rocky) McKamey Jr., Teena (Crystal) McKamey, Teresa (Eddie) Thompson, Tracy (Art) McKamey and Mandi (Rob) Winning. James is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Connie in 2009 and his two sisters: Geneva Evans and Imogene Marney.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 12:00pm until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Ballert, beginning at 1:00pm.
