Dave Detwiler

March 11, 2018

This is Dave Detwiler. We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing.

Jim was our cousin (my grandmother Jeannette Rumsey Henry was his Jim's aunt).

Both my grandmother and my mother (Carol Henry) often mentioned Jim and his family out in Ohio. They told me how he and his siblings had a rough start in life, during the Depression in Penn Run when their dad moved to Texas, but with a lot of hard work and a little help from folks that cared about them, they and their mother Hazel made it. My grandmother told us how proud she was of Jim, how he served in the Navy, and as a Mason, and the great work he did in Ohio while raising his family.

Please let Velma and all of his loved ones know how sorry we are for your loss!

Dave and Lori Detwiler, and our kids Kristin, Amy and Brian and their families.

March 4, 2018

I'M SAD TO HAVE MY DAD GO. THE TIMES I SPENT VISITING HIM IN THE NURSING HOME WERE SOME OF THE NICEST MEMORIES I WILL HAVE OF MY DAD. WE WATCHED TV AND I BROUGHT HIM SOME OF HIS FAVORITE FOODS TO EAT.
I ALSO HAVE HAD HIS DOG CHRISTOPHER SINCE DAD WENT TO WOODLANDS. MY BROTHER JIM AND I MADE SURE DAD GOT TO SEE CHRISTOPHER SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. I''LL MISS DAD SAYING HE'S MY BOY.
MOM AND DAD I LOVE AND MISS YOU BOTH! GIVE MY CASSIE A HUG AND KISS FROM ME.
