James “Junior” Stevens, 87, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2013, after complications with pneumonia. Junior had been a resident of Canterbury Villa of Alliance for the past four years in the Alzheimer’s unit.
He was born in Grantsville, West Virginia, on June 9, 1925, and lived most of his life with his wife of 67 years, Ruth, at Calvin, WV until they moved to Ravenna seven years ago to be close to their family due to medical conditions.
He is survived by his daughter Carolyn (Virgil) Reagan, granddaughter Angelia Rose, great-grandchildren Lee and Nicole Rose, all of Ravenna; sister Geneva of WV and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his parents; 5 brothers: Festus, Donald, Cleo, Sheldon, and Samuel; and 2 sisters: Rachel and Reta.
