James A. Taylor

James A. Taylor, 79, of Lisbon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019. James was born in Youngstown, Ohio on August 30, 1939 to parents Opie E. and Barbara F. (Freed) Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and spent a long career as a truck driver. In his younger days he loved to hunt and fish and over the years enjoyed bowling in many different leagues. James was a member of the East Palestine Moose Club and New Waterford Eagles Club, both of which he enjoyed many years socializing with his friends. Most of all James was a wonderful husband, hard worker and great provider. Family was important to him and he loved his grandchildren. James is survived by his wife of 24 years, Juanita (Bacorn) Taylor and his children: Laurence (Dawn) Wright and Sherryl (Bryan) Roberts. He is also survived by his sister Pat Gardner and his five grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Amy Proudfoot and his grandson Joseph Proudfoot. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Maple Grove Cemetery, 6698 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
