

He was born on July 11, 1941, in Briceville, Tenn. The oldest son of Samuel and Edna (Housley) Worthington. He came to Ohio as a young man and worked at Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, Ohio and later at Ravenna Aluminum as a press operator.
He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, and being with friends. He never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone.
Preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Edna, sisters Audrey Hedlund of Council Bluff, Iowa, Katherine and Lavada Worthington of Oak Ridge, Tenn., his brothers Rodger and Stanley Worthington of Oak Ridge, Tenn., daughter Sandra Russell of Ravenna, Ohio, his grandson Dana Russell of Akron, Ohio and his nephew Aaron Worthington of Tenn.
James is survived by his brother Carl Worthington of Tenn, and his children Thomas Worthington of Ravenna, James (Doris) Worthington of Ravenna, Christopher Worthington of Ohio and his daughter Beverly (Randy) Russell of Akron, Ohio. He also leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. Left also to cherish his memory is his loving companion of many years, Wanda Rinehart.
The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Arbors at Streetsboro during his stay at their facility and the staff of Crossroads Hospice Care for the wonderful care given to James.
Per his wishes, cremation is being honored and inurnment will be held at a later date.
