She was born December 2, 1936 to Urban and Anna Mae (Rider) Paulus in Randolph, Ohio.
Jane was married to John E. Bedard for over 39 years and together they raised six children on the family farm in Johnnycake Hollow. She was the proud mother of Jody (Bob) Hamilton, Brenda (Lyndell) Elias, John A. (Joanne) Bedard, Paul (Paula) Bedard, David Bedard, Gary (Danielle) Bedard.
She was preceded in death by her husband John E., son John A., grandson Jacob, brothers Carl (Phyllis), Roy (Jeanne), Glenn (Rose), Mark (Shirley), sister Rita (Harry) Kotkowski and her twin sister Jean (Ralph) Stanley.
In addition to five of her children, Jane is survived by her sister Ann (Phil) Wibert and brother Lee (Yvonne) Paulus and sisters-in-law June Bedard Kerrigan, Phyllis Paulus and Rose Paulus Todaro.
She was blessed and smitten with her 13 grandchildren Melinda (Fred) Furr, Dawn (Brian) Kuzniak, Ashley (Kristen) Hamilton, Danielle (Joseph) Sayman, Ethan (Rylee) Elias, Nicole (Nate) Smith, Hayley Bedard, Cassie (Jason) Braden, Cara ( Ryan) Athy, Brooke (Andy) Emch, Brianna Bedard, Isaac (Stephen) Bedard and Jacob Bedard. She absolutely adored her 16 great-grandchildren Massimo, Matteo, Matthew, Callen, Ellie, Maeve, Logan, Leigha, Arlyn, Owen, Addison, Isla, A.J., River, Rowan, Reagan and 2 more on the way.
Jane was proud of her Randolph roots. She was very involved in her community. She was a cook at St Joseph School, Co-Founder of Randolph Girls Softball, a member of St Joseph Parish, Randolph Preschool Mothers Association, Waterloo Athletic Boosters, the Altar and Rosary Society, St Joseph Bowling League, St Joseph Golf League, The Red Hat Society, Randolph Garden Club, Randolph Food Shelf and Randolph Fair Floral Dept. volunteer and a Portage County Board of Elections worker.
Jane was a devoted mother and grandmother who relished any time spent with family. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, playing dice and cards, and competing in any athletic activity. She had a true passion for helping others. Her favorite role was spending time with her grandchildren, whether she was caring for them or supporting them at their sporting events.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Rachel Hornyak and Dawn Kuzniak for the love and compassion given to their mother.
In Memory of Jane, donations can be made to the Randolph Garden Club or St Joseph Church in Randolph.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St. Joseph Church, Randolph, Ohio from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christina Burial, officiated by Rev. James Lang, at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
