Janice Rose Medlen

Throughout her journey with illness, Janice demonstrated remarkable grace and an inspiring spirit that touched the hearts of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Janice was the fifth daughter born to the late Joseph and Kathleen Koval on April 5, 1968. She found immense happiness in her roles as a wife and mother, adored her pets – especially Sully and Kayla – and always appreciated a fine cup of coffee, much like her father. Although she favored the comforts of home, she held a special fondness for beach vacations.

In addition to her mother, Janice is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of 36 years, Greg Medlen; her son and daughter-in-law, Greg Jr. and Michelle Medlen; her sisters, Eileen (Mike) Edwards, Kathy (Tim) Borbely, Joyce (Dan) Cavanaugh, and Susie (John) Anderson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father Joseph, in laws Harold and Louise Medlen, brother in laws Andy and Norm Medlen.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna, Ohio 44266, from 3:00pm until the memorial service, officiated by Deacon Christopher Germak beginning at 5:00pm. Private inurnment will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua.
