Jay F. Olin

Jay was born July 8, 1944, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Ray A. and Mary E. (Wood) Olin. He worked as a machine operator, retiring from Eaton Corp in 2006. Jay proudly served his country for eight years as a member of the National Guard. He enjoyed square dancing and was a former member of the Ravenna Circulators. Jay was fascinated by electronics and gadgets, including his ham radio. He also enjoyed bowling and going to car shows.

Jay is survived by his son Jeff Olin of Streetsboro, his granddaughter Erika Olin, and sister Jane (Darrell) Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Deanna (Stanley) Olin, his son Gary Olin, his brother Jesse Ray Olin, and his half sister Verla Olin Beck.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Elizabeth Hazelton on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
