Joanne Grady Hall

She was born September 25, 1935, in Mogadore, Ohio, a daughter of the late Virgil and Orpha (Lacefield) Grady. Joanne was an active member of the Suffield United Church of Christ. She graduated from East High School and still met regularly with her high school girlfriends.

Joanne enjoyed playing cards and scrabble as well as painting and making crafts. She loved her faithful Jack Russell terrier “Rudy”, but most of all, Joanne was devoted to her family. There are many fond memories of Friday night family gatherings at grandma’s house for her delicious homemade pizza.

She is survived by her children: Brian (Jayne) Hall of Charleston, WV, Randy (Terri) Hall of Stuart, FL, Michael (Carolyn) Hall of Akron, Wayne (Kim) Hall of Atwater, and Donna (Don) Dawkins of Champion, OH, as well as sisters Midge Dunnington of Akron, Sue Grogan of Green, and brother-in-law Donald Hall of Akron. Joanne’s memory will also be cherished by her 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, special niece Robin Schiele and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dale Hall on September 4, 2011, her brothers Reuben, Virgil, Jim, and Jack, her sisters Mary, Clara, Betty, Barbara, Elaine, and Phyllis, her grandson Matthew and granddaughter Laura.

Friends will be received Monday, October 8, 2012, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Barry Bordenkircher at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Suffield United Church of Christ, 1115 State Route 43, Suffield. Burial will take place on a later date at Atwater Cemetery.
