John Stewart Kaehne

He was born July 6, 1952, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Margaret (Hayhurst) and Paul Kaehne Sr. John graduated from Kent State University with honors, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree. He retired from Deluxe Corporation and had also worked at K.W.A. in Kent and operated his own business, Kaehne Siding for many years.

Family always came first in John’s life. John loved to stay at home and was a true handyman. As a jack-of-all-trades, he always kept busy. He enjoyed playing cards, especially hosting poker games. John also liked puzzles and played Sudoku daily.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Linda (Thompson) Kaehne. He is also survived by his brothers: Paul (Terri) Kaehne Jr., Robert Flowers, and Duane Flowers, as well as his children: Tammy (Shawn) King, April (Marc) Lewis, and Brian (Lisa) Kaehne. John’s memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Tyler, Trey, Deion, Rylee, Harrison, Ian, Blayne, Nolan, and Maggie, along with his many nieces, nephews, and his dear dogs, Nylia and Halo.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Carl “Skip” Kaehne and Mike Flowers.

Friends will be received Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Pastor David Ballert officiating the funeral service at 6:00 PM.
