John Allen Pyle

He was born August 13, 1940, in Swanton, Maryland, to parents Cecil and Virginia (Warrnik) Pyle. John was an Operating Engineer with Local 18. He was also a member of the Ravenna Masonic Unity Lodge #12.

John enjoyed gardening, hunting, mowing his lawn, and relaxing in his hammock. He also liked to go out for ice cream. Above all, he cherished his time spent with family, especially his great-grandchildren Emmalee and Easton.

John is survived by his daughters: Cheryl Jenkins, Virginia and Todd Jones, and Kathleen and Robert Schulz, his grandchildren: Brandi and Jared Smith, Andrew Jenkins, Ashley Jenkins, Nicole and Jared Powell, Julia and Zach McCord, and Austin Mitchen, as well as his great-grandchildren: Allison and Jaxson Smith, Amerie Jenkins, Penny Mitchen, and Emmalee and Easton Powell. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Tasker and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings: Kathleen, Cecil, and Alverta.

His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a memorial service celebrated by Pastor Bill Nicewarner at 11:00 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Inurnment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
