

John was born on September 3, 1946, to Leonard “Bill” Rude and Genevieve “Jenny” Baker Rude.
He married the love of his life Bonnie J (Pospichel) Rude, on September 19, 1964, in Angola IN. They resided in Ravenna, Ohio their entire married life, raising 4 children, John, Jennifer, Jeffery and Jason, and were able to be involved in their 8 grandchildren’s lives, Jordon, Eric, Triston, Eoin, Ciara, Maureen, Joshua and Jacob and great grandchildren Kamron and Kennedy.
In 2011, John retired from Sysco Corporation, and they set off on travel adventures with most treasured friends Joan and Kenny Shank of Trotwood, Ohio for a whirlwind retirement trip. Both John and Bonnie enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with travel partners in crime, Doug and Penny Hutchinson. They enjoyed many fun filled adventures together.
Special and dearest friends of Jim and Sharon Belles and Dave and Karen Nelia for always being available for a short notice dinner and a movie or a planned event of the “Scintas” who they saw many times and just loved it.
John was preceded in death by his Parents Bill and Jenny Rude, brother-in law Kenneth Pospichel and beloved wife Bonnie Jeanne Rude.
He is survived by his brothers David (Madelon) Rude, Curtis Rude and children John (Cynthia) Rude, Jennifer (William) Flachbart, Jeffery Rude and Jason Rude. Sister in-law Jennifer Pospichel, nieces Amy B. Campbell, Raina Henderson, Kara Smith and nephews Dan Rude, Thomas Rude, Greg Pospichel and Kevin Pospichel also survive John.
Dad was a member of the First Christian Church for many years serving in many positions. This brought him great joy. Dad was a faithful servant, always willing to help.
We as a family would like to extend our most gracious thank you to Dad’s Physician’s, Dr. David Uhal, Dr. Brian Canterbury, and Dr. Tom Tanphaichitr, who helped take care of him for many years. We are so very grateful for their talent and expertise.
Per his wishes Dad’s final gift was the gift of Organ and Tissue Donation through Life Banc.
Memorial donations can be made in his name to the First Christian Church of Ravenna, 6252 Gladys Street, Ravenna, Oh. 44266.
Family will receive friends at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10am until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Laurie Metzko, beginning at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
