Joseph W. McKee

He was born July 12, 1934, in Ravenna, Ohio, a son of the late Max and Dortha (Beery) McKee. Joe retired from the Ravenna Arsenal in 1993 after working many years there in pest control. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joe was a life member of A.P.C.O. Fishing and Wildlife Club where he mentored many young men interested in the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Ferguson McKee; children: Pam (Eric) Gross of Diamond, Rodney (Suzanne) McKee of Alliance, Keith McKee of Cranberry, PA, Debbie (Jim) Huston of Marlboro, Heather (Steve) Brackenrich of Ravenna, and Monte Ferguson of Kent; grandchildren: Beth Simmons, Klara McKee, Kloe McKee, Caitlin McKee, Michael Boyd, Brittany Carson, Stephanie Carson, Johnny Carson, and Montgomery Brackenrich; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Lauren, and Andrew Simmons. Joe is also survived by his sisters: Nancy (Don) Moore of Kent, Sue (Gene) Basinger of Ravenna, and Barbara (Tom) Coe of Salem.

Friends will be received Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Minister Stephen Eubank on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
