Juliann “Judy” F. Kohl, a cherished wife, devoted mother, adoring grandmother, beloved great-grandmother, and a pillar of unwavering strength, left us on April 8th, leaving behind a legacy brimming with love, kindness, and spirited generosity.
Born on May 8, 1928, to Julia and Carl Frank, Judy embarked on a life-long journey defined by compassion and selflessness. Her gentle spirit and nurturing presence touched the hearts of all who knew her, resonating through the community she lovingly served.
Judy was the epitome of devotion as a wife to Jack Kohl, Senior, standing beside him since their marriage in 1948. Her unwavering love was a guiding light, a testament to the deep bonds of partnership.
As a mother to Julie (Charlie) Bailey, Susie Kohl, Libby Clawson, Tim (Lucinda) Kohl, Mike (Angela) Kohl and Jack (Heidi) Kohl, Judy poured her heart and soul into their upbringing, instilling values of love, wisdom, and endless support. Her nurturing embrace was a sanctuary, shaping their lives with enduring virtues and profound affection.
Judy reveled in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren, Chaz, Jake, Jarrod, Kaylyn, Alec, Joceyln, Elise and Jace. Known as GG to her great-grandchildren, Parker, Hunter, Ethan, and Calista. Judy's playful laughter and warm hugs left an indelible mark, creating cherished memories to be treasured forever.
A graduate of Ravenna High, Class of 1946, Judy’s vibrant energy extended beyond family. She was a lifeguard who taught swimming, a testament to her love of water and dedication to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of others. Her involvement with the First Congregational Church, RMH Auxiliary, and historical society illustrated her commitment to service and community.
Judy loved nothing more than celebrating with family, losing herself in a good book, and watching generations flourish by the pool—a reflection of her love for swimming and family gatherings. Her stories enriched our lives, weaving a narrative tapestry that spans decades and embodies the essence of her spirit.
Her brother Jim Frank, many nephews, nieces, and a loving family survive Judy. They will carry forward her legacy of joy, resilience, and the profound impact of a life well-lived.
Though Judy's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to be a beacon of light. As we navigate life's journey, we take comfort in the cherished moments shared, allowing her spirit to guide us with love and grace.
Rest in peace, dear Judy, knowing that your memory is a treasure kept alive in the hearts of those you loved so deeply.
