

She was born in Franklin, PA, to Louis D. and Genevieve Patras. Katherine was a registered nurse, retiring from Robinson Memorial Hospital in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenna where she was treasurer of United Methodist Women. She was also treasurer of Beta Sorosis, a member of the Thursday Literary Club and T.O.P.S. Most important to her were her family and friends. She loved to travel, thoroughly enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.
Surviving Katherine are her sons: James (Patricia) Pangallo and David (Kathy) Pangallo. Also surviving are her grandchildren: James Pangallo II, Christopher (Carey) Pangallo, Robert (Kim) Pangallo and Brandy (Igor) Olefir. She leaves her great-grandchildren: William, Nathan, Christian, Dominic and Avery Pangallo and Darya Olefir. Surviving also is her sister, Dr. Dorothy Patras.
Katherine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ross J., her sisters: Stella Beardsley, Leona Goumas, and Phyllis Patras, and her brother, James Patras.
Family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 12, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect St., Ravenna, with Reverend Vernon White and Pastor Scott Purdum officiating. Final resting place will be Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Cindy Sedlock, President of Active Life Care and Robinson Memorial Hospital Visiting Nurse and Hospice. We would like to extend a special thanks to Rose Goldfuss who has been Mom’s caretaker, companion, and friend for the past six years. Our thanks is also extended to her other caregivers Sarah, Laura and Carolyn for their tender care during Katie’s last few months, as well as those who visited, called, sent cards or flowers, which helped brighten her days.
