Kathryn Kristine Drnjevich

Kathryn “Kathy” Drnjevich, was welcomed into eternal life on July 27, 2026. Kathy, born October 28, 1951, to George and Kathryn Gribik of Ford City, Pennsylvania, was the fourth and final blessing to her mom and dad.

It was Kathy’s nature to give and serve others, and, therefore, fitting that she earned a nursing degree from Presbyterian University School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. While working as a nurse at Mercy Hospital she met her husband, Andrew “Andy” Drnjevich. They went on to be married in October 1976. Their life took them to Ravenna, Ohio, where they spent their free time raising Quarter horses on their beautiful farm.

She was a dedicated wife and partner to Andy. They became business owners of Triangle Pharmacy in Ravenna where, with Kathy as the nurse on staff, they became a staple in their community. Many utilized her knowledge as a nurse for blood pressure checks, medical inquiries, or just a quick chat about life. She was never one to turn down helping someone in need; always there to offer sound advice, whether about medicine or life.

Kathy’s biggest pride, though, was being a mother to her daughters: Kristina and Alexa. When they were little, she made it a priority to ensure they looked their best in matching outfits. She was their biggest champion and loudest cheerleader on the sideline of every game. She somehow managed to navigate motherhood, a full time career, and make it appear easy. Kathy was always a phone call away, happily providing the best motherly advice to her daughters.

Aside from being an adoring wife and mother, she was also talented in the kitchen. She loved to bake and prepare holiday dinners. No Christmas was ever complete without Kathy’s famous tart or nut roll. And, Kathy loved a Disney vacation. Summer vacations, spring breaks and even a Christmas at Disney’s Old Key West filled her with so much joy. Kathy had a big soft spot for dogs, too. Most recently loving the cuddles given by her sweet Cavalier King Charles, Bluey.

Finally, and most importantly, Kathy found great peace as a devout Catholic and parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish. She was a true woman of God who found her vocation in being a wife and mother.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Andrew, of nearly fifty years (their 50th wedding anniversary to be celebrated October 9); her daughters: Kristina and husband Dan Reilly (Michael, MaryAnne, and Andrew); Alexa and husband Mike Pugacz (George); sister Elizabeth Gribik; sister in law Mary Ann Gribik; and many nieces and nephews (she was a great-great-aunt after all). Kathy is preceded in death by her parents George and Kathryn Gribik; brother George Gribik; sister Rose Marie Opalka and brother in law Andrew Opalka.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 pm at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home in Ravenna.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, presided by Father Kraynak. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery following the mass.
