Kay Marie Winters

She was born to the late Bernard and Delpha Phelan on September 2nd, 1951. Family and friends were the center of Kay's life. Kay loved working in her many flower beds and was outside as much as possible. She worked as a Corrections Officer for the Portage County Sherriff's Department from 1994-2009.

She is survived by her husband Bryan "Rocky" Winters, her sister Sue (Ron) Darrin, and her three daughters: Mandi (Jim) Workman, Kathy Morris and Casie (Frank) Dehner. Also surviving is Kay’s beloved dog CoCo.

Her grandchildren were the driving force in her life for the past 20 years. She fought every day and survived her 2 year battle because of the love in her heart for each and every one of them. Left to cherish her memory are Joey 20, Kaytlin 19, Mackenzie 18, Blake 18, Bryan 15, Tommy 15, Thomas 11 and Aiden 10.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 4:00PM until the 6:00PM Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Jimmy Lovejoy.
