Kenneth N. Day Jr.

Kenny was born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 21, 1958 to parents Kenneth N. Day Sr. and Vivian E. (Burke) Day. Kenny graduated from Rootstown High School with the class of 1978. He had been employed at East Mfg. in Randolph for twenty years, subsequently leaving to work as a union carpenter. He then went on to operate his own carpentry and contracting business remodeling many homes in the area. Kenny was very active along with his children in 4H and was a member of the Portage County Beef Committee. He was very kind and never knew a stranger. Kenny would talk to anyone. He enjoyed hunting trips with his son and family. Kenny loved tending his large flower and vegetable gardens. He absolutely adored his grandchildren.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy (Schoppelrey) Day and his children Terry (Tabitha) Day and Cristin (Craig) Lewis. Surviving also are grandchildren: Kolton Day, Conner & Audrey Lewis, his mother Vivian Day and his siblings: Denise (Earl) Horning, Karla (John Wood) Kommel, Dean (Jean) Day and Shane (Nicole) Day. Left also to cherish his memory his in-laws: Richard & Ida Schoppelrey, sister-in-law Brenda Jones and many loving nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father.

Please join the family in celebrating Kenny’s life with visitation at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm where Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at 11:00am with Pastor Scott Hindel officiating.
