Kenneth “Kenny” E. Walker, age 62 of Suffield, formerly of Ravenna, passed away peacefully May 30, 2023. Born on September 23rd, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, to parents William “Shorty” and Linda (Payne) Walker, he moved back to Ohio as a child, where he resided for the remainder of his life. Kenny was a hard worker and took great pride in being a surveyor for Campbell and Associates in Cuyahoga Falls for many years.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed being outdoors. Being an avid outdoorsman, Kenny enjoyed fishing whether it be by himself, his faithful canine companion Annie, or family and friends. He was featured in many newspaper articles and won an array of awards for his fishing endeavors. Kenny also enjoyed hunting and did so for much of his life.
Kenny enjoyed music, playing air guitar when the moment struck him, and sitting outside on his porch, watching the wildlife and creek that ran alongside and drinking a cold beer. Simple things were what mattered most.
His grandchildren became his world once they arrived. His nickname of “Papaw” was quickly established, and he cherished every moment he had with his “grandbabies”. Rides for popsicles and beef jerky was a must when the grandkids were over. Shooting BB guns and finding funny prank videos on YouTube were also a beloved pastime as the kids got older. His memory and legacy will forever live on within his grandchildren, especially his grandson Lukas who is his papaw’s mini me.
Kenny is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Debbie (Lewis) Walker, his children: Josh (Dana) Morgan and Jennifer (Matthew) Deeken, as well as his sister Donna Ludwig, brother Danny Walker, brother-in-law JR Lewis, sister-in-law Mary Kay (Jim) Viall, along with countless other extended family and friends. Papaw’s memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Tyler, Lillian, Abbi, Anna, Violet (Hunny Bunny), Lukas (Scoop), Eliot (Little man), Salem, Aslinn, and Rowan.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Paul Walker, brother-in-law Bob Ludwig, and his cousin/best friend Joe Miller.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Reverend Eddie Renfroe at 4:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E.
