Kyle Douglas Veon, 36, passed away on October 13, 2026, after a sudden illness. Kyle was born April 9, 1990, in Ravenna, Ohio, to Neal Thomas Veon and Tammy Sue (Haviland) Gauer. He grew up in Rootstown and graduated from Rootstown High School in 2008. He resided in Newton Falls, Ohio.
Kyle built his life with steady determination and pride in doing things the right way. He worked as a weld inspector with Thielsch Engineering, a role that reflected the diligence and work ethic he carried into all he did.
On August 11, 2012, he married his beloved wife, Lauren (Shaw) Veon. Kyle was a proud girl dad to Joslin and Zoey, and his love for his family was evident in the way he showed up—reliably, wholeheartedly, and with a warmth that made home feel like the best place to be.
Kyle is survived by his wife Lauren Veon, his daughters Joslin A. Veon and Zoey M. Veon, his mother Tammy (Michael) Gauer, his father Neal (Olympia) Veon, and his siblings: Garret Drennen, Sydney (Mario) Samuyo, and Isaac (Ellie) Veon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Janet and Lee Veon.
Those who knew Kyle will remember someone larger than life—both in presence and in spirit—whose humor could cut through any heaviness and whose affection for others was unmistakable. He found joy in the outdoors, especially hunting, and he was a member of the NRA. He listened to hard rock music, had a special talent for cornhole, and could often be found working on his truck and other vehicles, hands busy with the kinds of projects he genuinely loved. Kyle's biggest pride was his girls. He devoted his life to them, teaching them their way around the outdoors and showing them constant love.
Kyle was also a member of Shepherd's Joy Ministry in Windham, where his faith and fellowship were part of the life he shared with others. His legacy lives on in the laughter he brought, the devotion he gave, and the steadfast way he cared for the people who mattered most.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home in Ravenna. A Memorial Service will be officiated by Pastor Brad Edder on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
