Lela Grace Dawson

Lela Grace was born in Kent, Ohio to parents Lester and Ruby Texter on July 2, 1919. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Kent. Lela Grace liked to knit and sew, making clothing for herself and her daughter and knitting many afghans and baby sweaters over the years. She was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. She was a member of the Kent Kingdom Hall and enjoyed ministering as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Surviving Lela Grace are her children: Keith E. (Dorinda) Dawson, Duane (Lori) Dawson, Jerry T. Dawson and Elaine M. Dawson. She also leaves her granddaughter Amanda Dawson, her sister Naomi Hansen, her step-brother Charles D. Miller and step-sister Jane Jayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. “Bumps” Dawson, her parents, her stepmother Mary G. McFarland, her sister Glenna Corley and her brother Harold I. Texter.

Cremation has taken place and final resting place will be Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.

A memorial service officiated by Mr. Arden Just will be held at the Kent Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1625 Athena Dr. at 3:00P.M. on Saturday, April 21, 2012.
