On Monday, August 25, 2025, Leroy Lott went home to be with his Heavenly Father. Born on May 25 in the year 1945 to Turner and Corinthia (Wright) Lott, he was a true-blue son of Ravenna OH, who never wanted to live anywhere else.
From Skeels Allotment he was able to forge his way through 80 years of life in Ravenna. He played sports, loved all Cleveland sports, especially the Cleveland Browns and on any given night could be seen watching anything from Track and Field to the WNBA. He was known to be a fisherman and for a time could also be seen throughout Ravenna’s Little League Baseball as a local umpire. He loved music, Soul/R&B, Gospel and Blues, and was known to cut a rug on the dance floor.
After school he went to work for his Uncle Andrew Wright at Ohio Concrete before working for Stock Equipment in Chagrin Falls for 32 years before retiring.
He and his wife Gloria (Saunders) Lott began a relationship in 1966, married in 1979, spending a total of 59 years together. This loving relationship gave birth to two sons, LaMar (Stephanie) and Brandon, eight grandchildren - SiMia, Marlie, Hannah, Nathan, Joey, Kris, and Marissa - as well as eleven great grandchildren. His son Steven Foster was the eldest son, born through a previous relationship. He is survived by his sisters Janie, Thelma and Elaine, and his younger brother Bill.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings David, Bea, Sommy, Roger, John, Terry, Amy and Linda.
Leroy was a faithful member of the Ravenna Avenue Church of God Family and was a committed servant of the Lord.
Friends will be received at the Ravenna Avenue Church of God, 333 Ravenna Ave., Ravenna, on Saturday, September 6. 2025, from 11-12pm, with the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Patricia Dennison, beginning at 12pm.
