Loretta Rose Grice (nee Esposito), 78, of Kent passed away at UH Portage Medical Center surrounded by family. On January 14, 2022 the gates of heaven opened wide to welcome home Loretta Rose Grice in rejoining her heavenly family.
Loretta was born in Ravenna, Ohio to Guy and Helen Esposito on March 19, 1943. Her parents were blessed with three daughters; Loretta was the middle child. The three girls shared a very special sisterhood that provided years of laughter and good times. She graduated from Ravenna High School and Riggs LeMar Beauty School. After spending several years as a hairdresser, Loretta found her true passion in working with children with developmental disabilities. She retired from Happy Day School where she spent 33 and a half years as a teacher’s aide. She genuinely loved and cared for her kids. Those years at Happy Day also gave her many wonderful lifelong close friendships.
In 1964 she married Daniel P Grice, Sr. and was blessed with 58 beautiful years together. Loretta and Dan had three children; Daniel P Grice, Jr.; Dean Grice; Lori (Grice) Miller; son-in-law Randy Miller. Her love for her children was something to be admired. She shared a special relationship with each of them. Her mother-daughter relationship quickly turned into best friends. Spending time with her daughter Lori brought her great joy in life. It was not often that you would see one without the other. The beach was Loretta’s favorite destination with many trips spent with her children, sisters, nieces, and nephews over the years. Always up for finding treasures, shopping was surely at the top of the list of favorite things to do. Her life was full as she made family and dear friends the center of her life. She will be remembered for her selfless acts, always helping others, her kindness she shared with strangers, her sweet and tender ways she had with children, the love she gave unconditionally, and that beautiful face always offering a smile and the greatest giggle that was sure to have you joining in laughter. While her death leaves a huge void, the stories of her life will continue to be shared by friends and family who loved her deeply.
Left to cherish Loretta’s memory are her husband and children; sister Rosemary Sheetz; Sister-in- Law Toni Johnson (Joe), along with all her extended family and friends.
Along with her parents, Loretta is reunited in passing with her sister Carol Troy.
