

Lucy S. DeLeone passed away after a brief illness on July 28, 2011, surrounded by her beloved family. Those that knew her found her to be a most loving, caring, and vivacious person. Her utmost devotion was to her daughter Paula and her family.
Former Portage County Clerk of Courts and lifelong resident of Portage County, she was born in Hudson, Ohio. For the past several years she has been living in Georgia with her daughters and family. During Lucy’s lifetime she was very active in church, politics, and community affairs. Her career started at the Ravenna Arsenal as Supervisor of Records at the Depot and then Supervisor of Office Services.
Lucy was a very active charter member of the Society of the Blind, she was also instrumental in starting PERI Chapter 63 and was a charter president for several years. She was past president and a 50 year member of the Ravenna Business and Professional Women BPW as well as Past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and a 50 year member.
Lucy’s husband Paul preceded her in death in 1983. She is survived by her daughters Paula DeLeone, Carol DeLeone-Thomas, son-in-law Michael R. Thomas, granddaughter Michelle DeLeone Thomas, their most caring family friend Sandy Patrzalek all of Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
Reverend John-Michael Lavelle will officiate the funeral service on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary Cemetery Chapel, 829 Mill Rd., Ravenna.
