Born in Barberton, Ohio on December 21, 1935, to Ethel and Gale Lawrence, Marjorie spent her last 42 years in Spokane, Washington.
She will be missed by her family: Sister Mary Virden (Cliff), son Daniel, daughters Kristy and Wendy, grandchildren Victor, Dana (Jeremy), Kelly, Forrest (Tyler), Jesse, Ross and great grandchildren Dharmma, Meridian, Jericho, Willow, Richard, Mara, Woodrow, Miles and Rowan, and nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard Moore, her parents Ethel Hall and Marguerite and Gale Lawrence, her brothers Richard, Chuck, Daniel and Edward and her grandson Darrick Moore.
Marjorie Elizabeth Moore married her high school sweetheart Richard Moore when she finished cosmetology school, and he finished basic training in the Air Force. They went on to travel the world. Stationed all over from California (Northern and Southern), New Mexico, New Hampshire, Michigan, Ohio (for the family while Richard was in Vietnam), Arizona, Okinawa, Mississippi, New York, Kansas, California again and then their final assignment to Spokane, Washington. They loved it there and made it their retirement home. They both continued to work. Marjorie worked a wide variety of jobs; both volunteer and paid throughout her life.
When her mother was stricken with dementia, Marjorie moved her to Spokane from Winona, Ohio to care for her.
Marjorie and her husband were known for hosting social events. They bowled in leagues for many years. They had a large garden, they cared for together, happily sharing the bounty with friends and family. After Richards death Marjorie continued to keep a garden and loved making unique jams and jellies for gifts. Marjorie and Richard loved their pets. They always had a couple cats and a dog in residence, who were cherished.
Marjorie was a friend to all. She could always be counted on for a friendly phone call if you had a problem to solve. Her family network ended up spread out all over the United States. Her children were all in the military or married to military spouses. Her brothers and sister also spread around the country.
A special thank you to her wonderful neighbors who helped her in her last years. Without Theresa Smith and Georgianna Dergenstein, she couldn’t have lived in her own home as long as she was able to.
Friends will be received at Grandview Cemetery, 1295 S. Johnson Rd., Sebring, Ohio, 44672, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10 am until the memorial service, officiated by Chaplain William Wisniewski, beginning at 11 am. She will be interred alongside her husband at Grandview Cemetery.
