Mary Elizabeth Moss Crowder, born February 19, 1924, passed away on March 15, 2018. Mary was the second oldest in the family of ten children. She was the daughter of Newton M. and Bertha L. (Murphy) Moss. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and her husband of sixty years, Harry L. Crowder.
Mary enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, horse races, dog races, casinos, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and Blue Grass and gospel music. She was born in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from Kenmore High School. She lived most of her life in Randolph, Ohio.
Mary’s father, four brothers, and son all served in the military during various wars. Her great-grandson is currently serving. She was a big supporter of the Veterans. During World War II, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” making parts for the Corsair planes.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to her survivors – children: Linda (Ron) Wills, Janet (Duane) Eisentraut, and Dale Crowder. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jeff (Lita), Jason (Jeanie), Jon, Marty, Darlene (Hank), Shelly and Brandy (Adam), great-grandchildren: Savanna, Jason, Ethan, Lindsay, Adysen, Ayden, Josh, Sean (Kristin), Erin, Cody, Charles, Ariel (Alex), Gabby, Christina, Adam and great-great grandchildren: Johnathan and Oliver. She also leaves her two siblings: Lilly (Bill) Blackburn and Jim (Betty) Moss along with many nieces and nephews.
Per Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
