Mary Haines

Mary Haines, age 85 formerly of Lake Milton, passed away Tuesday surrounded by family, February 16, 2021, while residing at the Gardens at Liberty Park in Streetsboro.

She was born June 25, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Michael and Elizabeth (Reisinger) Hollosy. Mary retired from Saint Gobain after 43 years of employment. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, and had a deep love for animals. Her main interest was Friday night poker games with friends and gambling. Mary liked to go to casinos, watch horse racing, go on bus trips, and of course, traveling to Las Vegas. She enjoyed family trips to Tennessee and mostly having her daughters around her. Mary is survived by her children: Valerie Evans Coontz, Vickie (Steven) Pahls, Vanessa (Robert Stanley) Turner, and Stephanie Clark, her grandchildren: Daniel, Brad, and Daryl Evans, Mark Salgado, Jason and Jessica Hensley, Cory Turner, Patrick and Preston Cegelski, as well as her 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Howard Richard Michael, her longtime soulmate Frank Corsino, her son-in-law Terry Coontz, and her granddaughter Nicole Salgado.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the West Cemetery Chapel in Palmyra. All guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Mary and I have been friends since elementary school. A life-time friend. There are many great memories of time spent together. I will always remember her beautiful smile. My heart goes out to her daughters and friends.
