Mary Ann Torok Kasper

Mary Ann (Torok) Kasper, 85, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on September 3, 1929, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Kolesar) Torok. She lived for many years in Blaine, Lansing, Martins Ferry, and St. Clairsville, Ohio before moving with her family to Ravenna in 1964.

Mary Ann graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1947 and attended the College of Commerce in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna. Mary Ann was actively involved with the Girl Scouts for over 50 years.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. “Butch” Kasper, her children David, Deborah, and Betsy; by her sister Irene Smith, and by both parents. She is survived by sons Joseph Jr. (Kathy), William (Theresa), Robert (Beth), and Richard (Rhonda); by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will take place later the same day at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Blaine, Ohio with graveside services at 3:00 PM.
