He was born March 3, 1959, in Lebanon, to parents Beni and Bahia (Boutros) Farhat. Michael immigrated to the United States at age 19 to pursue the American dream, which he started by earning a degree in Engineering from the University of Akron. After graduation, Michael worked as an electrical engineer by trade at Chemstress and MK Ferguson before starting his own small company, Timeware Inc. in 1998. Michael found great fulfillment in his work, and loved creating and inventing. Michael felt that he truly never had to work a day in his life because he loved what he did and worked tirelessly.
Michael enjoyed traveling, both for work and pleasure, including many trips back to Lebanon to visit family. Michael also enjoyed trips to Cedar Point with his son, and loved roller coasters. He also enjoyed gardening, and enjoying a wide variety of food, especially his favorite Lebanese recipes. Most of all, Michael was a loving family man who cherished simple times spent with them. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Rebecca Salamon-Farhat of 30 years. He is also survived by his dear son, Steven-Joseph Farhat, in addition to his six siblings, as well as his mother-in-law Olga Salamon, and an abundant number of nieces, nephews and cousins near and afar. Other special relatives include Elena (Guy) Giorgio, Rose (Frank) Bosko, Mark (Tawnya) Bosko, Teresa Bosko, Vanessa Decker, and Eric Decker and he appreciated the many special friends who supported and prayed for him over the past year.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Moufid Farhat, and his father-in-law Joseph A. Salamon.
