Minnie Merle Cianchetti

She was born July 11, 1923, in Columbus, Georgia, a daughter of the late Vilas L. and Willie Mae (Harris) Anthony. Minnie Merle was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and was a former volunteer with the school’s PTA. Along with her husband, Robert, Minnie Merle was very active in Town and Country and the Western Whirlers Square Dance Clubs.

A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, Minnie Merle is survived by her husband of 68 years Robert J. Cianchetti, Sr.; her children: Robert J. (Melody) Cianchetti, Jr. of Madrid, Spain, Paul A. (Dianne) Cianchetti, Sr. of Cincinnati, Philip T. (Marcia) Cianchetti of Tallmadge, Laura (Andre) Fortin of Enumclaw, Washington, and Mark A. (Mary Jo) Cianchetti of St. George Island, Florida. She is also survived by 14 loving grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son John L. Cianchetti, her granddaughter Amy Cianchetti, her brother Roscoe Anthony, her sisters Elizabeth Jones and Mildred Colwell.

Friends will be received Wednesday, February 23, 2011, from 5-8 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend John-Michael Lavelle on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna.
