Nancy Louise Kastor, age 85, of Meadview, Arizona, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love. Born in Ravenna, Ohio, Nancy moved to California in 1964 with her husband, Donald, where they raised their family.
A devoted mother to Vaughan and Dwayne, and a proud grandmother to Brooks, Micaela, and Summer, Nancy poured her heart into her family. She never missed a single baseball game, serving as team mom year after year, and even sat on the board of directors for the Chatsworth Jr. Baseball League.
In 1990, Nancy relocated to Meadview, Arizona, where her community service only deepened. She served many years as president of the Quail Club and worked tirelessly on the board. Alongside her friend Bob Brady, she sold See’s candy to raise scholarship funds for local graduates—one of her favorite charitable efforts. She also volunteered with St. Mary’s food distribution, helping those in need.
Nancy’s faith was central to her life. As president of the Mission Bells at Our Lady of the Desert Church in Dolan Springs, she organized holiday luncheons, decorated the church for every season, and played the organ for Sunday Masses for four years.
Her second family was at VFW Post 11014, where she could always be found at food nights mingling with her friends. Nancy was also an avid Bingo player and enjoyed getting out weekly to play. A proud American, and strong with her beliefs, she would also volunteer her time at the polling booths during local and national elections.
Nancy was a happy, loving soul, always wearing a smile that brightened the lives of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She will be laid to rest in her family’s Tilden plot at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, Ohio. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com
